Hello!

We are Warminster Community Choir and we meet every Monday during school terms at St Johns School Hall at 7.30-9pm.

The Choir was put together by Joanna Turner in September 2012 as she felt there was a calling to bring the community together to sing! Anybody can join, there is no need for musical skill, experience or note reading, just the want to have fun singing with others alike. Our Mission Statement is "Warminster Community Choir is for all ages and all abilities, enhancing well-being through the active use of singing". The choir is fairly informal, we run vocal exercises and warm ups , then a few songs before stopping for a drinks/social interlude, we complete the evening with a few more songs and a brief over view of the session. The songs chosen are on the request of the choir and we have an extremely varied repertoire from Ave Maria, to Les Miserable, to Leona Lewis and The Beetles. We work using simple harmonies written by the choir master to encompass the abilities of individuals and the choir and there is always the option of the occasional solo. There is no age limits on the choir but we do ask that children below the age of 12 are accompanied by a full paying participating adult.

The cost of joining the choir is £5.00 per person a week, there are discounts for families available. It is a pay as you come choir so no large termly fees to pay, but we do ask that you try and commit to most weeks especially when performances are coming up.

We regularly performn for events including our own concerts, Weddings and we very often support the many local events in Warminster (Turning on Christmas Lights, Remembrance Ceremony to name but a few). We are available for performances, please contact Sharon Havery (Details on our Contacts Page ) if you wish to discuss booking Warminster Community Choir.

The choir master is experienced and I assure you are in safe ‘conducting hands’.

I hope you enjoy looking around the website and please do contact me with any questions.
